Poetry, A Requiem Zachary Phillips Poetry, A Requiem Zachary Phillips

Lost To Time

Anguish dissipates
At the sight
Of my young son’s smile
Despite knowing
That he too
Will be forgotten
Lost to time
Almost as soon as I am
Yet here and now
There is joy
A small light
Illuminating the crushing darkness
